LIVE EVENT
IndyCar — Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg
Projection-mapped live-event activation for the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg — the IndyCar Series championship season opener that takes over the St. Pete waterfront every spring. Multi-year real-time interactive activation work for the race-weekend kickoff.
The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is the championship season opener of the IndyCar Series. The race takes over downtown St. Petersburg every spring, with a temporary street circuit running through the waterfront district. Pixel Rain produced the projection-mapped activation for the race-weekend kickoff.
Race-weekend facade activation
Large-format projection-mapped animation on a downtown building wall during the Friday-night race-weekend kickoff — series brand marks, driver portrait composites, championship motion graphics. The content was built to read clearly to standing crowds at street level under downtown lighting conditions.
Recurring engagement
The engagement repeated for a second year Series content + race-weekend logistics + downtown street-context all dialed in.
On the race-weekend canvases
One of the projection surfaces used during the race-weekend kickoff was the Dalí Museum’s exterior facade — the museum sits inside the waterfront race district. The race-weekend work itself was independent of the museum’s broader programming.
